The Pound Pledge

As a leader/Chairwoman for STRONGER TOGETHER OVER POWERING PAIN (invisible illnesses) S.T.O.P.P, you no doubt understand the pressing need for  change as we move forward from the Fibro petition to S.T.O.P.P we need to raise our first £5000 to gain charity status. We have had goals from the very beginning including establishing treatment centres into areas where they are needed. Eventually we want to achieve this in every community, so that it is not a postcode lottery any longer for sufferer’s with invisible illnesses. There is so much more we want to be there for and to carry on being here for you all.

I myself (Adrienne Lakin) know what it is like living with Fibromyalgia., to feel let down and isolated not only from family and friends but to lack of medical help.

Our efforts to push forward and strive to meet these goal and much more can’t take effect unless we have the support of everyone in our community.

That’s where you come in!

I’m writing to ask you to donate a little as a £1 to help firstly reach charity status, then secondly so that We can get underway with the projects to help with treatment for us all.. By donating, you will be able to support us reaching these accomplishments and do so much more for our community.

If you would like to sit down and have a discussion about donating time, money, or services, you can contact me directly via email

I hope to hear from you soon, and thank you in advance for your generosity.Adrienne Lakin

  1. Fantastic Work that you guys are doing. So proud of the achievements you have accomplished so far and looking forward to seeing more. Thank you from a fellow fibromyalgia sufferer.

Please email me to discuss all the above .

  3. I’ve donated a tenner. Fibromyalgia has ruined my life, I’ve gradually learned how to adjust and be happy but it’ll never be the same as before. I cry when I can’t join in with my son because mummy’s in too much pain, or mummy’s too tired, I hate that my mental health nursing career was cut short in its prime, I can’t even walk my dog without need using a mobility scooter which means I get fatter!
People don’t get the other stuff fibro causes too, like the stomach problems, the forgetfulness and brain fog, the nausea, the chemical sensitivity and allergies., the inability to regulate body temperature
    It needs much more recognition

    1. Hi Keely,

This is why we are fighting to make parliament understand what we have to live with on a daily basis. Thank you so much for your support and your donation Keely.

  4. Hi Adrienne and team,
Thank you very much for all you doing to help us all with fibro.
I’ve donated £30 and will donate again when I can. ❤

  5. I can only donate £1 today but I didn’t want to leave it to another day – brain fog means I would probably forget!
If I come across this post again I will try to donate again.
I have only been diagnosed since March last year but already this dreadful disease has stolen my life. My consultant told me that if we were in the USA she could refer me for all sorts of options but “there’s no money for treating fibromyalgia” in the UK!
    This is so very wrong!
